LeVo House / Atelier Bertiga

The house is located in the Tebet area and appears towering with a black checkered facade pattern that seems unique compared to the surrounding houses. Starting from an existing house inhabited by a main family, the client wanted a house with a concept that emphasizes space compactivity, ventilation, and maximum natural lighting. To answer these problems and needs, the architect tried to reuse the demolition of the existing house by applying the split-level concept. With an area of 185m2, the building mass is divided into 2 parts which are connected by an open space in the middle.

Sweets Bank / Nikken Sekkei

Outsized & Authentic: SWEETS BANK is a Must-See Stop - The social media-friendly SWEETS BANK project is a mixed-use facility based on the concept of "a large living room in the city.” The site’s outsized, but carefully designed tables and chairs are intended as an expression of the Shunkado corporate slogan: "We want people to spend family time at the table with sweets." In the modern age of social media, in which a single photo can instantly capture hearts and minds, the image of the building itself becomes the medium, attracts people to regional cities, and creates memorable experiences for posting to the world.

The Block / ISA

Big box buildings sited on abandoned industrial lots can bring new retail amenities to historically underserved neighborhoods, but their associated surface parking lots can negatively impact urban street life. The Block, a 49-unit mixed-use multifamily building situated on an existing surface parking lot in Philadelphia’s Callowhill zone, bridges that gap, adding density and supporting pedestrian walkability while taking advantage of existing car-centric development in a novel typology.

Bai-Ha Residential Complex / PPAA Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados

The project involves designing a block of 18 apartments for vacation purposes for a development agency located in Aldea Zamá, south of Tulum, Mexico. The site is characterized by tropical vegetation and soft soil, it is located about a hundred meters from the main beach. The vegetation includes native shrubs and tall palm trees, most of which need to be preserved. A panoramic view of wild garden-like vegetation can be seen from the main floor, and from the upper levels one can see treetops and views of the ocean.
