Tianjin Juilliard School / Diller Scofidio + Renfro

The Tianjin Juilliard School (TJS) is a center for performance, practice, research, and interactive exhibitions, with communal spaces that are designed to welcome the public into the creative process and performance of music. TJS is the first performing arts institution in China to confer a U.S.-accredited Master of Music (MM) degree.

Set on a steep terrain with a privileged view of a lake, Cedar House embodies the desire to inhabit the landscape with lightness and depth. The design is anchored in the natural relief, allowing the topography to guide the architecture. The entrance is at the upper level, where the bedrooms and office are located.

22RE, the Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary architecture and design studio, in collaboration with creative director Madeline Denley of Never Far Studios, unveils its latest project: a thoughtfully designed headquarters for Ceremony of Roses, an artist merchandising and brand services company supporting some of the world's top musical creatives. Located in Culver City, the 7,000-square-foot office occupies a transformed 1950s vaulted factory, now a striking and sensuous workspace that supports both the functional needs and creative ambitions of the brand.

In a densely populated district, a narrow alleyway leads to an irregularly contoured parcel of land in the heart of the city block. Once occupied by thirteen nondescript garage boxes, this space has undergone a transformative metamorphosis, giving rise to a contemporary ensemble - a single-family dwelling harmoniously integrated with a yoga studio and a cozy café.
