Damen Green Line Station / Perkins&Will

The new Damen Green Line Station reestablishes vital train service to Chicago's Near West Side for the first time since 1948, reconnecting a community long underserved by public transit. The station exemplifies the power of infrastructure to advance equitable development, strengthen mobility networks, and celebrate local identity. Situated along the historic Green Line, it links the Kinzie Industrial Corridor, the United Center, Malcolm X College, and surrounding residential neighborhoods—anchoring a rapidly growing district and supporting a planned $7 billion mixed-use redevelopment around the United Center.

Experimental Shelter in the Sierra de Segura / SANTZO arquitectos

Tinadas, pigsties, mills, and washhouses populate this natural landscape of the Sierra de Segura alongside small, generally abandoned villages. Remnants that were once an essential part of everyday life and the memory of thousands of anonymous men and women who inhabited these landscapes. People forced to abandon their homes and lands to create an environment where they could enjoy hunting, disregarding their rights.

Punto Luce Socio-Educational Center / AOUMM

The new Punto Luce of Save the Children in Milan IS a socio-educational center dedicated to children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17. AOUMM's intervention transformed a site formerly occupied by a deteriorated prefabricated structure—abandoned since 2008—into a hub of creativity and inclusion. The 3,027 sqm area, of which 900 sqm is built space, houses educational labs, music and digital activity rooms, a teaching kitchen, gardens, and outdoor recreational areas. It also includes an independent 70 sqm space designed for use by local associations.

The Culture Shift / Superimpose Architecture

The Culture Shift by Superimpose Architecture is a new civic landmark in Dongguan, China, a city at the heart of the Greater Bay Area known for its rapid urban transformation. Conceived as a "terraced landscape for culture, work, and community," the project integrates a municipality house, cultural center, theater, community spaces, and offices into an interconnected ensemble. Set amidst Dongguan's dense skyline of high-rise towers, The Culture Shift redefines what a civic center can be. Instead of a monolithic complex, it unfolds as a sequence of ascending terraces that echo the surrounding mountains while creating a bold yet inviting gesture in the urban fabric. Three buildings frame a generous central courtyard; a calm, green "living room" that anchors the ensemble and offers an open, social heart for the community.
