Senior Shelter / i29 architects

i29 designs a home for a family of three generations - On the plot of an existing main residence, i29 architects designed a second, single-story home for senior residents. The 100 m² house is a carefully considered addition that respects the scale and context of the existing site. Its placement creates a natural relationship between the main and secondary dwellings, closely connected while respecting each other's privacy. Since its completion, the grandparents have enjoyed being close to their children and grandchildren, and vice versa. Architecture and interior design are uniquely integrated into one cohesive living volume.

Concéntrico 2025: The Politics of Urban Presence

Every June, the Spanish city of Logroño transforms into a space of architectural dialogue, opening its streets, plazas, riverbanks, and traffic islands to temporary structures that redefine how cities are inhabited. For ten editions, Concéntrico has worked not as a specialized fair or an architecture biennale, but as a portable museum — a curatorial gesture that brings a dispersed collection of contemporary architecture into public space. Set in a city suspended between arid plains and distant mountains, far from the circuits of capital cities and cultural institutions, Concéntrico presents itself as a temporary promise. It's a reminder that even cities that are often overlooked can host architecture that is current, diverse, and speculative. In this sense, the festival is less about celebration and more about activation.

The story begins with the old routine of saving the day
The client was dissatisfied with the previous design of the art center. After the previous architect ran out of ideas, they approached me, hoping I could create a design that balances substance and visual appeal. The constraints were that the basement had already been constructed, so I could not alter the beam and slab structure types. The new building could not exceed the original structural load or go beyond the original building control lines.
