Nha Xuan Tay Residence / G+ Architects

Project Context – Nha Xuan Tay is situated on a small hill in Xuan Tay commune, approximately 8 km away in a straight line. The house was designed for a young family returning to their hometown, seeking a weekend retreat where their children could connect with nature and extended family. Improved infrastructure between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai made this lifestyle more accessible.

Located in a privileged natural setting, the project arises from the desire to establish a subtle dialogue between architecture, landscape, and living. The project unfolds on a single level, prioritizing horizontality as a strategy to blend with the land and the surrounding garden.

In response to the problem of accessibility to the Montijo Municipal Gallery building, the introduction of a lift in a 19th century building in the heart of the city center was the starting point for the construction of this small public work, an 80 m2 garden.

Gregorio Pecorelli Studio has completed the restoration of a lakeside residence on the shores of Lake Como, originally built in the early 20th century above an old dock. The project preserves the original character of the structure—including its distinctive vaulted entrance that once allowed boats direct access—while redefining the interiors through a refined, contemporary lens. At the heart of the project is the relationship with water. The lake, both physically and visually, enters the house through the original dock, filling the interiors with its shifting reflections and establishing a strong, sensory connection between architecture and place. The renovation creates a serene and essential atmosphere, where materials, light, and structure are carefully orchestrated to offer a tranquil retreat from the noise of everyday life.
