Center Coffee Eastpole / KKOL Studio

Center Coffee is a brand known and loved for its devotion to coffee beans and its sincerity toward coffee. Alongside a change in seasons, Center Coffee underwent a large-scale rebranding and a simultaneous recontextualization of its spatial design. Each location has its unique appeal and characteristics, but there was a need to form an appropriate level of visual consistency throughout. The task was to forge "uniformity" while also specifying a degree of "difference."

'S.M.A.R.T.' Campus Combines Three Schools on One Site - The Agnews campus seamlessly integrates separate elementary, middle, and high schools on a single 55-acre site, which was once home to a historic mental health facility. The three schools share a common architectural language while maintaining individual identities through color, scale, and landscape. Proximity and shared-use spaces encourage staff and student peer mentoring and a sequenced curriculum.

The clients of the East-West House originated from China and the Netherlands. They have traveled all over the world, among other things, and lived in Asia for quite some time. Now back in The Netherlands, they have purchased a typical 1930s uninsulated brick corner house in The Hague. Their request was to create a sustainable, modern, attractive, and warm extension and renovation where both worlds, east and west, come together.

When we first arrived at Rua de São João, all we saw was a hill next to the entrance of the plot, which blocked our view to the other side — to the west.
