KOODU Weaving a Nest / NO Architects Designers and Social Artists

Koodu, or the Nest, is a budget home designed for a single mother and her two children. The house is located at Eravipuram, Kerala, on the southwest coast of India, along the Arabian Sea. The site lies within a densely packed urban area, where most plots range from 2 to 3 cents in extent. This house is built on a 2-cent plot, with only 1 cent dedicated to the built-up area.

House in La Vicentina / Al Borde

The project is located in La Vicentina, a traditional middle-class neighborhood in Quito, Ecuador. The location of the lot on a staircase makes it impossible to have parking, but far from being a disadvantage, it aligns with the lifestyle of the owner, who is a frequent bicycle user. In addition, the hillside topography provides an opportunity to take advantage of the view towards Cerro Auqui. Added to these conditions are the client's needs: a home for his own use, a smaller one for his daughter, and a versatile common space that can function as a workshop or social area.

George Street Plaza & Community Building / Adjaye Associates

"My hope is that this new community building and George Street public plaza will become a cherished destination in Sydney's city center, a generative place for people to connect, recharge, reflect, and take a pause from the rhythm of a fast-transforming city." David Adjaye

KIAORA / [STRANG]

This striking residential design by STRANG, located in a leafy Miami suburb, redefines modern living with its innovative architectural approach. The design consists of two interlocking, rectangular volumes, creating a dynamic and visually compelling structure. The upper floor, clad in elegant wood panels and louvers, houses the communal living areas. This volume floats above an inviting exterior living space, allowing the family to fully embrace a subtropical lifestyle.
