26 Projects Selected for the European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention 2023

On the occasion of the sixth edition of the AHI European Heritage Intervention Award, the 26 selected projects within the categories of Built Heritage and Outdoor Spaces have been announced, among a total of 241 projects submitted from 28 different European countries.

Architecture Classics: Copan Building / Oscar Niemeyer

The Copan is a landmark in Sao Paulo. Even those who have never entered the building know its curves from afar. Amid the intense verticalization of the city center, the horizontal brise-soleils reinforce the building’s presence on the city’s horizon.

Dune House / WHALE!

Casa Duna is located on a flat terrain, without views, and exposed to both the north wind and the main road of the La Boca fund in Tunquén. It appears to the environment as a tapered body devoid of openings.

Penthouse 1928 Balzar / Balzar Arquitectos

The 1928 housing in Valencia is located in a historic building that is part of the city's modernist architecture. Its main facade is composed of parallel vertical axes where elongated window openings are aligned. It stands out for its classic balustrades on the balconies and semi-circular arches in its openings.
