Rehabilitation of the old Jordão Theater and Garage Avenida / Pitagoras Group

Teatro Jordão, - this is how we name the well-known building that during its lifetime also housed the "Restaurante Jordão" (Restaurant) on the lower floor, was built in the 30s and corresponds programmatically to the typical Cine-teatros (Cinema Theatre) program, of which there are many and varied examples throughout the country, making it possible for the traveling companies that existed at the time to perform plays, providing above all the space for cinema, introducing one of the items of "modernity" in very incipient urban contexts.

ZI House / vardastudio

The residence is located in Episkopi, a community in the Limassol district, in an area with unobstructed Kourion sea views. Because of the panoramic views, the main functions of the residence are facing toward it. The clients’ brief was for a two-story building with a pool, an open-plan kitchen and living area, and a yard. The residence is elevated on the plot in order to have the mentioned unobstructed view.

100JOA New Construction of a House Between Dividing Walls/ Vallribera Arquitectes

We are hired by a family from Mataró. We easily agree on a layout with the day-use area on the ground floor: parking for one car, bathroom, living room, and kitchen-dining room. Then the bedrooms are located on the first floor: the parents’ room with a bathroom and dressing room, the children’s rooms with access to a terrace, plus a multi-use area for study or play. The working area (or home office) and study are on the second floor, for the whole family, opening onto another large terrace. The factors that drove the design were the size of the plot and its surroundings. The typology is a row house with an ample width (5.25 m, specifically) but the plot is not very deep. This means that the backyard, normally one of the highest quality spaces in a house of this kind, is quite small. Plus, it opens onto the interior of the block, which is densely built.

Monumen(t)huis Office Renovation / Declerck-Daels, Architecten

Group Monument is the most important Belgian group of building companies engaging in the renovation and restoration of buildings of art historical value. Restoring monuments is both an art and a science. You step into a world where the past and the present intersect. The basic qualities required are a sympathetic understanding of the construction methods of the past, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary construction techniques.
