House in Praia Verde / Atelier Central Arquitectos

Located in Praia Verde, between the Ria Formosa Nature Park and the Castro Marim Marshland Nature Reserve, the property is home to an immense spontaneous pine forest, shaped by the winds brought by the sea. Sculptured pine trees stretch along the valley to the river that runs along the property's southern edge.

Kindergarten in Saint-Ouen-Du-Tilleul / ACAU Architectes

The new school takes place in the city center of Saint-Ouen-du-Tilleul next to the town hall and the multipurpose hall. The equipment sets over the entire width of the plot, parallel to the street “Rue de l'Eglise”. This layout allows children's living spaces to be protected from external views, while opening generously onto the playground and the planted areas, offering users places for living and teaching in relation with nature.

House on 46 / Kumar La Noce

House on 46 is a multi-generation house on a tight urban plot in south Bangalore. The intent was to understand how domesticity, nature, and privacy can be layered within compact urban plots while offering dynamic and generous layouts that can be adapted by the inhabitants. On the street-side facade, a system of operable metal screens creates the outermost 'skin' or exoskeleton and starts blurring the boundaries between private and public. It creates a dynamic connection with the street spectator, with a fluid porousness according to the angle of visual engagement. Made using slim mild-steel fins of varying sizes and thicknesses, the panels are stiffened through the pattern, at the same time minimizing waste owing to the varying lengths.

Edgars Creek House / Breathe Architecture

This home is respectful of the country. Perched on the banks of Edgar’s Creek, overlooking sandstone cliffs and iron bar trees, Edgars Creek House is designed to connect to nature. Instead of presiding over the landscape, it offers an opportunity to live simply as part of a system. Rather than fitting the site to the house, we fit the house to the site. Edgar’s Creek House is made up of a series of undulating volumes that step into the landscape, responding to the slope of the site. It is a continuum of indoor and outdoor, light and dark environments, winding and stepping through a series of spaces, clad in raw, natural materials. It is simple and honest in its approach to siting and planning, precisely framing views of surrounding trees.
