The Highland Park residence offers a counter proposal to the contemporary Tudor mansions and French chateaus of this tony Dallas neighborhood. On a property without any significant natural features or trees, and neighbors looming on either side, the three-level design creates an extraordinary environment for family and art. Here, an incredible new landscape disguises the garage and is an invitation to occupy in new and unexpected ways.

The project stems from the client's desire to transform an old pigsty, located in the historic center of Sasamón (Burgos), into a contemporary single-family home. The intention was clear: to preserve the rural identity of the building and its presence within the heritage fabric while creating a warm, functional domestic space adapted to a new way of living.

Seventeen years ago, the Wenchuan Earthquake severely damaged infrastructure in this region. After arduous post-disaster reconstruction, the "Mianmao Road" was initiated in 2009 with multi-party funding to connect Mianzhu City (on the edge of the Sichuan Basin) and Mao County in Aba Prefecture. Due to the treacherous terrain and frequent hazards, the highway became one of Sichuan's most challenging post-disaster transportation projects. After 14 years of construction, the road opened in 2023, ending the historical isolation between Mianzhu and Mao County. To commemorate its construction journey, honor the heroic efforts of its builders, and serve local cultural and spiritual needs, the "Mianmao Road" Memorial Exhibition Hall was established.

Located in the heart of Paris, the residence offers shelter to women who have experienced violence. Led by Vilogia Group and operated by the associations FIT "Une Femme, Un Toit" and Aurore, it provides temporary housing - a vital transitional step in their journey - enabling them to regain a sense of dignity and safety before beginning a new chapter in their lives.
