Legendary outdoor lifestyle brand Snow Peak has recently unveiled a multifunctional retail showroom in the heart of Suzhou's historic city center. Designed by KiKi ARCHi, led by architect Yoshihiko Seki, the project embodies the brand's core philosophy. In addition to showcasing camping gear, outdoor apparel, and hiking tools, the showroom integrates a café corner to create a hybrid environment expressed through a minimalist and abstract narrative that recalls the natural topography of hills and forests.

As part of our ongoing exploration of Almaty's identity through urban café interiors — following our previously published project Fika (2023) — this new space continues our investigation into the architecture and spirit of the city as both reference and point of departure. In Six Coffee Wine, familiar materials and techniques are reinterpreted in contemporary form through close collaboration with local artisans and artists, reviving their presence through experimentation and spatial storytelling.

Centennial College's Story Arts Campus in Toronto's East York occupies a restored 1954 Toronto Teachers' College building designed by renowned Toronto Modernist, Peter Dickinson. One of the architects' greatest works, the building received a Massey Medal for Architecture. RDHA was commissioned to renovate the building's 500 square meter library and rebuild a 1990s addition whose irregular form protruded from the original structure in sharp contrast. Demolishing this element included removing partitions, a staircase, and structural columns to optimize the available spaces for programming. With a clean slate, we refurbished and replaced existing mechanical and electrical systems and developed a conceptual approach centered around lightness – reinventing the library as a vibrant space that both acknowledges and contemporizes Dickinson's modernist design language.
