Valley House / SOHO Architects

Located in the picturesque mountain town of Sulthan Bathery in Kerala,  the site sits within a sloping terrain typical of the region's mountainous landscape,  descending towards the east. The topography presented both a design challenge and an opportunity to craft a home that integrates naturally with the contours of the land. While the site lacked naturally level platforms, strategic site grading was employed to create two distinct ground levels for construction. The careful placement of two building blocks minimized cut-and-fill operations and reduced the need for extensive retaining structures, allowing the built form to nestle into the landscape with minimal disturbance.

Unlocking the Untapped Potential of Our Existing Buildings for a Healthier Future

The VELUX Group is launching the next step in its Action Leadership agenda as an experiment to explore how existing buildings can better serve both people and planet. The experiment builds on decades of demonstration projects and research into healthy buildings, including Living Places, which achieved an ultra-low carbon footprint and first-class indoor climate in an affordable and accessible way. The next step shifts focus towards existing buildings, from new build to renovation—named Re:Living.

PAN-ORAMA Pavilion / Associates Architecture

PAN-ORAMA is a pavilion designed for the 4th edition of the Festival des Cabanes at Villa Medici.
The project consists of a square enclosure that embraces a centuries-old pine tree in the garden, defining two distinct spaces: an inner one—more intimate and contemplative—facing the tree and the sky; and an outer one, in dialogue with the hedges that characterize the Villa's gardens.
