BRF Smedjan Courtyard Building and Gatehouse / Högberg Gillner Arkitektur

Tredje Långgatan is characterized by a varied urban block structure, with a wide range of building volumes from low to high. Remnants of small-scale industrial buildings coexist with robust brick structures and plaster façades from the decades around the turn of the last century. The buildings meet the street with rough-hewn natural stone bases or rusticated ground floors. The courtyard façades are marked by light-colored plaster surfaces with darker window frames.

An Unfolding Crisis with a Hopeful Outlook: Highlights from the Projects Exhibited at Venice Architecture Biennale 2025

Under Carlo Ratti's curatorship, the Venice Biennale's 19th International Architecture Exhibition delves into the theme "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective," with the explicit aim of transforming the city of Venice into a "Living Laboratory." In addition to the 65 national participations and a wide range of educational and collateral events, the exhibition features independent projects that directly respond to the overarching theme. House M / Atelier About Architecture

House M is a multi-story home located in the eastern part of Beijing nestled among shaded trees and lush vegetation. The environment exudes a unique atmosphere and texture. The homeowner described many times their childhood memories etched deep in mind—the impressions of home and life: low-rise buildings, windows that opened directly onto tree canopies, sunlight and towering bookshelves, dark terrazzo floors, and the flickering shadows of trees dancing on red brick walls. These images, passed down through generations, have become part of the family's character and have laid an emotional and nostalgic foundation for this architectural space—a tapestry interwoven with both the new and the old.
