Tips for Home Gym Design: Fostering Physical and Mental Well-Being in Interiors

The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.” If one or more of these aspects are compromised, quality of life and happiness can be severely affected. In recent years, and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, this has proved to be especially challenging. Commuting restrictions forced many to stay indoors and businesses to pause in-person operations, aiming to prevent the virus from spreading but inevitably sacrificing psychological, emotional, and even physical health in the process. As a result, people’s lifestyles shifted to find new ways to address their well-being, including adapting their living spaces accordingly. Home gyms, for example, became a popular initiative.

Prevalent Reimagines the Australian Shed. Our natural environment is in more fluctuation than ever before. Seasonal patterns, once a constant, have slid into a perpetual state of flux. Adapting to a cascading crescendo of environmental degradation posits two primary positions in architecture: inflexible envelopes that protect between interior and exterior, resulting in the ever-fattening of wall typologies, or flexible envelopes whose orchestration and mode of operation is adapted by the user based on need. The Modus Operandi Brewery presents a case for the latter.

The Great Lawn City Library Of Central Park Of Pingshan / CM Design

It's a single-story building renovation project that located in the city park, surrounded by a large lawn, with excellent sight and a prominent position that can be easily detected. The idea of design hopes to create an open and modern reading public space, it also offers commercial services such as coffee and beverage retail, and aims to build up an attractive and multifunctional small public building. As a vibrant part of the city is created for people to relax, it makes up for the shortage of high-quality indoor space for people using the park.
