Mahon Pool Amenities / Lahznimmo Architects

Mahon Pool is a rock pool located to the North of Maroubra Beach, at the base of a dramatic sandstone outcrop on the edge of Jack Vanny reserve. Between the 1950s and 1970s, a cluster of red brick amenities buildings and a clubhouse were built overlooking the pool. The expression and prominent siting of these structures were seen as an eye saw and their dilapidated condition at end of life. lahznimmo acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, the Gadigal people, on which the building lies, and pays our respects to Elders, past present, and emerging.

House of Mountain Birds / Chaoffice

During the Second World War, this courtyard was destroyed and subsequently rebuilt by the Japanese invaders and played the role of a temporary wartime prison. The new building was quite special, as a single-sloping roof with lower eaves faced the outside. Although surrounded by natural beauty, the yard was enclosed by high walls and deep shadows, and as the only place which received any light, the circling houses were shrouded in darkness. After the war, the government returned the house to its original owners. The house became a prison, and the prison turned back into a home.

Credit House / DX Arquitectos

The Credit House project corresponds to a single-family home with a continuous facade between dividing walls, located in the Providencia district, Santiago de Chile. The surrounding neighborhood called "Barrio Italia" is made up of heritage and renovated properties with an artistic and bohemian spirit standing out. Art galleries, fashion stores, restaurants, and artist workshops are among the highlights.
