Pavilhão Praia / Aberta Arquitetura

Architecture as a simple and efficient support site, rooted in sustainability and modularity, Pavilhão Praia arises from a non-conventional demand for a house. It was developed initially for the CASACOR Minas 2022 exhibition, which shapes the challenge of designing a seaside building in wintertime in a place without access to the sea. The design presents this substance in a balanced way.

San Clemente Apartment / Jorge Díaz Estudio

Transformation operations on existing homes have become, in recent years, one of the main fields of action for architecture studios, especially for those who are taking their first steps in a professional landscape as complex as the current one. Its elevated corner position next to an ensemble of heritage buildings gives it views over the city and nearby mountains.

Can the term still apply to this field, can it bring forth new forms of knowledge, and does it differ from the concept of participatory design?
