Baan Nakhonnayok Riverside House / Sata Na Architect

A vacation home is a perfect place for relaxing that the family belongs to during the holiday or a place to live in retired life. For this reason, the design based on an understanding of the surrounding environment is important to enhance an incredible retreat for this place. This house is located along Nakhon Nayok River and many questions arise about this place like “How to put the river view into every room in this house and how to enhance the enjoyment of family members who live in this house?”

The Grave of Kamakura Yukinoshita Church / Takeshi Hosaka Architects

This is a renovation project of the grave owned by the church. The site area is 30m2. On the ground level, wide and flat space is needed to perform funerals and so on and the underground existing space is used as a shared burial chamber where only certain workers will enter.

Mérida Banking and Commercial School / IUA Ignacio Urquiza Arquitectos

La Escuela Bancaria y Comercial (The Banking and Commercial School) is located north of Mérida and is the second campus of this institution in this city; the new building is located in a growing area and seeks to serve a greater number of students. For the development of this project, three particular factors were taken into account that determined both the layout of the building and its materiality and operation: the program, the terrain, and the bioclimatic characteristics of the region.

Rove House / The Ranch Mine

“Dark and cramped with low ceilings” was the description the homeowners gave of their existing 1970s house in Paradise Valley, Arizona when they reached out to The Ranch Mine with hopes of completely renovating it while adding additional space. The architects focused the redesign on providing a new, indoor/outdoor living area with ample natural light, adding spaces that were lacking to accommodate their growing family, and reconfiguring the original home to make the most of the existing space.
