Framework House / Studio McW

Studio McW has completed the extensive refurbishment of a terraced house in Clapham, London, featuring a concrete frame extension. Framework House was designed for a family moving from an apartment who sought to maintain a sense of lateral living. Studio McW sourced the property and worked with the clients to guide its purchase and refine the redesign.

W39 House / ZLG Design

We bought the house as a typical Malaysian link terrace typology of the 1980s as part of a bigger housing development, with clustered spaces and many enclosed rooms. Over the course of 27 years, we have done a few alterations. The latest transformation started in 2015 and was completed in 2018, when the kids moved out, leaving us parents behind. This provided the opportunity to reduce the area by one-third of its initial build-up, allowing landscape; we planted a tree inside, and a 3 storey open volume with a new skylight and link bridges.

Rose Park House / Studio-Gram

The Rose Park House is best described as a project of discovery from commencement to completion. From the street this early 1900’s Queen Anne Villa appears like any other, however beneath the surface lies a series of spaces designed to be unique in their function and expression, yet consistent in their approach, resulting in an Architecture that is completely unexpected. Early investigations revealed that the walls of the original dwelling were constructed from off-form concrete, making it a unique building for its age and location. This discovery served as a key material direction of the project.
