Head Office Anthura / Atelier PRO architects

Atelier PRO designed the new head office for Anthura, a global specialist in plant and seed breeding. The primary goal was to create a contemporary environment where the company could work, meet and receive clients, which expresses its core values and tells 'Anthura's story'. A building befitting of Anthura. The head office, greenhouses, and R&D department of Anthura, a market leader in anthurium and orchid breeding, are located in the glass horticultural area around Bleiswijk, the Netherlands. The company occupies a state-of-the-art greenhouse complex and opened a new research center in 2019. Its office building, however, was severely outdated, and the surrounding outdoor spaces also gave a cluttered and unattractive impression.

Best Architectural Projects of 2022

Every year, ArchDaily features thousands of new projects that make up the largest online architecture library in the world. Our team of curators review, seek and make sure to explore some of the most innovative and relevant architectural works around. For that, we look into all natures and sizes of interventions, that reflect sustainable traits, local awareness, technological advancement, and comfort/well-being. The ArchDaily top 100 listing, in particular, combines all these factors with the data we get from our users: which projects are they looking at the most.

Otherworldly Resorts and a City Hall for a Utopic Metropolis: 8 Unbuilt Metaverse or AI-Generated Projects Submitted to ArchDaily

The promise of the metaverse is proving to be a fertile ground for research and experimentation for architects. This new realm is currently undefined, consisting of many narratives, explorations, and opportunities for architects and designers to shape a new type of environment. Generative engines, such as AI image-generators, are contributing to the feeling of open possibilities. While they are not yet part of the standard practice, they bring the promise of a shift in the production of architecture. Conceptual projects such as the ones presented in this list serve little to no external purpose. Still, they are essential in conducting an understanding of the possibilities of the new technologies which are likely to have a significant effect on the profession.
