Building in Campo de Ourique / GV+Arquitectos

In the middle of Lisbon, in Campo de Ourique street, comes up an opportunity to erect a multistore housing building. From the union of two land plots arises a geometry with delicate lines and 3 floors that gets inspiration from traditional Lisbon architecture elements, reinterpreting them for contemporary sensibilities.

Roof III / Atelier Lai

The roof is the connection between the building and the sky, an important shelter of the space, but also the core element of the building. The formal logic of the roof is influenced by two natural elements, gravity, and rain. Gravity is known as a permanent law of all things, however, rain is known as a natural thing that changes all the time. The resistance to gravity and the dredging of the rain determine the evolution of the roof. With the development of modern materials and mechanics, natural elements are no longer dominant in the form of roofs. The architecture shows an incomparably powerful human result, becoming more and more like a machine. The geometric purity of the form and the sense of the manual operation of the form (cutting, twisting …... ) demonstrate the ambition of modern people. Our philosophy of architecture is not like this. Architecture is not to drive away from nature, but to accept each other in the unity of man and nature: to guide the wildness of nature and to take good care of the vitality of nature.

Future Prism, Transparent Immersive Art Building / CATS

Today, most immersive art events (such as TeamLab's exhibitions) are realized completely in closed and dark spaces. The viewer is detached from the real world and loses the perception of physical space and environment. However, does the so-called "immersive" artistic experience have to be confined within a closed space? We want to challenge and explore a new kind of interactivity for this new typology in our design. Future Prism, designed by CATS, is an immersive art exhibition building, one of the first immersive art experience spaces in China that interacts with the surrounding urban environment. The combined innovation of design and imaging technology leads to a mixed experience blending the virtual and the real.

TJ House / One and a Half Architects

“Home utilizing common areas to connect residents’ happiness”. Concept and Design Guideline - The house with “Living” as the main part. The original land has a large Padauk tree at the corner. Living members include 1 family and 1 French Bulldog as the main character. The inspiration started from the movie title “Happ(y)ness”. Happyness is spelled as Y, not I. Happyness is not only I, but also You. We want the house to be everyone’s space and be the happiness area, where friends and family stay together. The concept was used to design house zoning and functions.
