San Ignacio House / 478

Casa San Ignacio is in a small town north of Jalisco, México, on a property that used to have the remains of an old traditional adobe house, typical of this part of the state. This project was conceived to create a home that pays homage to this kind of construction, characterized by their clear and solid volumes, lined up to the sidewalk and closed to the outside but still communicating with the interior through a passageway colloquially known as a “zaguán”, which allows for the occasional glimpse inside the house.

What Are Green Corridors?

Green corridors, or biodiversity corridors, are large portions of land that receive coordinated actions to protect biological diversity. According to Brazil’s National System of Nature Conservation Units, they strengthen and connect protected areas, encouraging low-impact use by implementing a more comprehensive, decentralized and participatory conservation alternative.

Versus Installation / TITAN

The new installation designed by TITAN is inspired by the relationship between form and balance established by architect Mathurin Crucy, who designed both the square and the theater in the late 18th century. Featuring a roller skating rink, this temporary structure has been adapted to the irregularities of the ground and plays with its natural slope, giving the square a renewed sense of centrality, and opening it up to hours of fancy-free skating. Measuring 38m in diameter, the main structure is made of prefabricated white concrete, while the rink track is poured-in-place white concrete.
