Six Square House / Young Projects

The residence is made up of six 24’x24’ gabled modules, arranged to align roof ridges and create continuity from one module to the next. In contrast, each module’s roof eaves flow upward and downward, which result in a variety of undulating surfaces and unexpected sightlines across the exterior and interior of the home. The home is clad in deep gray, slatted Accoya wood, whose striations enhance the roofscape’s dynamic edges and arcs.

Casa dos Triângulos Restoration / Metrópole Arquitetos

“Casa dos Triangulos” was built in 1956 and designed by Vilanova Artigas in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A raised block configures the general volume of the building and houses four floors in half levels. It has an artistic panel designed by Mário Gruber. The restoration project proposes interventions updating its facilities and adapting the spaces for contemporary uses. It respected the architectural characteristics of the house removing additions that caused problems for its perception. The demolition of the servant's facilities allowed a new relationship with the gardens that surrounded the house. The change reveals the cantilever at the rear of the house and allows better visualization of the artistic panel.

ↄc House / 3dor Concepts

‘Live in the lap of nature’. Every human mind wishes for it. We, architects at 3dor concepts were shown a site literally in nature's lap, in the foothills of lush western ghats in north Kerala. The site was also close to the popular hill station Wayanad. The young client Binil Thomas wanted a single-storeyed four-bed house. He is a management professional working mostly in big Indian cities and demands a peaceful space in the same piece of land where he spent his childhood living with his parents and siblings. His father was a successful farmer and they had already planted different kinds of plants already on-site.
