Cabin in Malalcahuello / Iragüen Viñuela Arquitectos

Conceived as a holiday shelter close to Corralco ski resort, the house stands on a flat lot, in the middle of a valley surrounded by forest-covered hills made up of araucaria, lenga, and other endemic species, with distant northwards views of the Lonquimay volcano and of the Sierra Nevada southwards.

ROOM Store / Pirca Arquitectura

Not having a defined program our main challenge was to design a space that was able to accommodate different types of programs and that could easily adapt to each one of them. We were interested in the analogy with an art gallery, in which exhibitions are in constant change and transformation.

Fishery Terminal Lonja De Pescado / Estudio Acta

The greenhouses of western Almeria extend to almost touch the sea in the Port of Roquetas. To the east, Cabo de Gata serves as a backdrop to a rich landscape of boats that reminds us of the importance of the sea in the history of this land. This project aims to mediate between both worlds, greenhouses, and boats.

Follyfield / Studio McW

London-based architecture practice Studio McW has completed the first phase of the multi-stage renovation of Follyfield, a large 18th-century traditional stone residence located in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The first phase of Follyfield’s revival sees the addition of three gabled extensions in varying scales which respond to the proportions of the existing property, blending contemporary architecture with the hamlet’s rural vernacular. The largest extension is built from clay bricks to complement the existing stone of the property, connected to the main house by a zinc-clad gabled kitchen and living space. The third addition is a new garage built from reclaimed stone and pale timber.
