LAB House / Studio Arthur Casas

Conceived on a plot of land with a sea view in the middle of the Atlantic Forest, this residence was planned so that it would seem to glide over the vegetation, positioning itself as a wide observatory of the ocean. To execute this idea, metal fins covered in wood were used, 4 meters high and supported by an "L" shaped metal structure, fixed to the concrete beams on the façade.

Habitable Module IWI / Juan Ruiz + Amelia Tapia

IWI is an architectural project that offers the user a living space that adapts to their lifestyle. It is a product developed and patented in Ecuador by the architects Juan Ruiz and Amelia Tapia. The living space is built in wood by means of digital production cut by numerical control (CNC milling), creating an industrialized product that allows its universality, mass production, and easy assembly and disassembly.

Upcycling Polycarbonate: Trapezoidal and Corrugated Sheets from Waste

Sustainability needs to go further beyond inspiring speeches and promises, with visible, concrete actions. In order to see this change, it is essential for individuals, companies and governments to take responsibility and act in a sustainable manner in their daily lives and practices. By taking into account the environmental and social impacts of their decisions and seeking more conscious and responsible alternatives, they can take steps to ensure a sustainable future for the next generations. In the construction industry this is even more urgent. Responsible for a large amount of solid waste and greenhouse gas emissions, it is essential for this industry to adopt sustainable practices, such as recycling, to minimize environmental impacts.
