House of Screens / PXP Design Workshop Co

Often regarded as the “screen house”, this tropical home in a private village in Quezon City, Philippines was designed for a small family of 4— the couple, both businessmen, and their two children who are both in college. The Screen house will be the second house of the family. They felt that their first home was inadequate for their growing lifestyle, so they decided to build a second house. This time, addressing a new design brief according to the lifestyle that they want to achieve; a tropically responsive, relaxing vibe, and bigger spaces. This resulted in the conception of the “Screen House”.

Victorian Heart Hospital / Conrad Gargett + Wardle

Conrad Gargett + Wardle have delivered Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital and the only of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, setting a new international benchmark for cardiac hospital design. The $564 million state-of-the-art Victorian Heart Hospital, operated by Monash Health on the Monash University Clayton campus, is now complete and fully operational, providing a range of world-class clinical cardiology services, research, and education. The 196-bed hospital features seven catheterization laboratories and dedicates one of its eight floors to heart research by Monash University, along with the independent Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre. The building's human-centered design incorporates biophilic and salutogenic principles, with seamless integration of architecture, clinical planning, interior design, and landscape design to create spaces that make the outdoors part of the calming and healing environment.

M+MS Bar / Studio GIMGEOSIL

As we know, cork is mainly used to close bottles of wine or whisky. Due to its elasticity and water resistance, it can effectively seal the bottle and prevent oxidation or spoilage. Further, the act of popping a cork provides a refreshing experience with its thrilling sound. In this project, corks can be found on furniture and doorknobs. We focused on the cork and adopted it as the identity of the space, allowing guests to have a firsthand experience of whisky beyond just tasting it. The cork used at MMS is different from what we used to know – it is dark brown.
