TH House / 85 Design

I have been to the last house of the client. They love flowers and growing plants, especially organic vegetables, and spices, without chemicals. However, their previous home is a small apartment building with little space for growing plants, and they even grow vegetables in their bedroom. So when designing this house, we intend to add plenty of room for growing plants.

In the PARK Anfu Rd Store / CASE PAVILION

When “in the PARK” reached out to us, their multi-brand boutique on Anfu road had been in operation for three years and a half. While their brand identity and architecture had become increasingly coherent, they encountered some functional issues in the physical store space. They planned to, within the shortest timescale and leanest construction manageable, extract as much productive potential of the store as possible: maximize the overall quality of the space, diversify the modes of display, expand the storage capacity, improve shopping routes, optimize the lighting, and so on. Picture the store at the time as a back alley in the urban center of a rapidly modernizing city: limited land (store floor plan) faced with continuing population (SKU) boom and increasing needs (diversifying brands and products) of its citizens. With misplaced items like packaging materials all over the space, the storage and merchandising were eating into each other. The brands, yet to be integrated, competed for limited display capacity.

TOMM House / mauricio Alonso. m arquitectuA

The house proposes a way of living that starts from a continuous dialogue with the landscape in which it is located. An irregular terrain at the end of a closed street, merging in some portion, to the semicircle of the roundabout that completes the residential area where TOMM House stars with its powerful personality of right angles. It is a Volume contiguous to a green area that belongs to the city. This green area is the trigger that determines the orientation. The street front is totally blind and leaves its main opening to the northeast. The order is for a family of 3 inhabitants with a priority; establish a permanent conversation with the vegetation that is what guarantees the outdoors, without neglecting privacy. The highest percentage of the garden area that the polygon of the land allowed us was achieved, being the juncture between the habitable and the area donated for a park, attesting to this constant relationship of views to the horizon.

Moscone Center Expansion / Skidmore, Owings & Merrill + Mark Cavagnero Associates

Moscone Center is an expansive collection of light-filled spaces that accommodates a variety of convention-related activities while making strong connections between the typically inward-looking visitor function with the public life of the city. Designed by SOM with Mark Cavagnero Associates, the expansion was constructed in multiple phases while the existing buildings remained operational.
