Architectural firm Norman Kelley completed a renovation to the lobby at 190 South La Salle Street, a 41-story office building owned by Beacon Capital Partners.

Environment. The irregularly shaped land is located near the ring road of Rio Tercero and has access to streets at both ends. The implementation premise is to locate the mass built around patios, seeking to generate different sensations and links with the private exterior according to the use of each space.

The Tropical Architecture of Monsoon Asia

Tropical architecture, a term widely used in architectural discourse, lacks a consistent definition. The adjective ‘tropical’ relates to the zone between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, which covers more than 40% of the earth’s surface. Heat is possibly the only shared characteristic of this belt. The tropical zone holds a range of climates from arid to wet, as well as a variety of geographic, social, and economic contexts. Unlike in temperate or arctic zones, a single umbrella term is used to describe the architecture of the tropics. 

Villa Cava / Espacio 18 Arquitectura

Villa Cava blends luxury with nature. Situated in the heart of the Mayan jungle in Aldea Zamá, Tulum. The villa was created by Espacio18 Arquitectura, in collaboration with Adrian and Andrea, a young couple from Ottawa, Canada. The inspiration came from the magical Cenote Suytun in Yucatan which captured their hearts, and they decided to create a home that embodied the natural beauty and spatial quality of the region.
