Europe’s First Mix-specific Environmental Product Declarations for Cement and Concrete

As the industry shifts towards a more sustainable model for construction, transparency becomes increasingly important. With a growing emphasis on building greener, architects, planners and other professionals want to make sure that the materials they are using have a minimal impact on the planet. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are an important tool to accurately measure that impact.

Ky Thuong is a small highland commune located about 60km from the center of Ha Long City in Quang Ninh province to the northeast. With an area of nearly 100 km2, the commune has only more than 500 people living, mainly Dao ethnic people. This is a very difficult commune in terms of economy, transportation, and lack of other social facilities. But in return, Ky Thuong is home to a large Dong Son nature reserve with many diverse and abundant plant and animal species, a majestic natural landscape, cool climate all year round. This is really a place with great potential for community tourism and nature conservation. But now, people here mainly live on subsistence agriculture combined with forestries such as planting acacia and other forest products.

Bayfront (The Future of Us) Pavilion / STUD Advanced Architecture Laboratory

Located in the Gardens by the Bay Singapore, the Bayfront Pavilion, also known as The Future of Us Pavilion, follows the tradition of architectural structures that evoke a dialogue with nature by blending an intricate form made of a perforated skin fluidly with the adjacent environments. Originally built to house The Future of Us Exhibition, the fiftieth-anniversary capstone event of Singapore, and completed for its current purpose in 2019, the building offers a climatically comfortable outdoor environment and a visual experience akin to walking under the foliage of lush tropical trees for visitors.

When traveling from Gangneung to Yangyang in Korea, you can see buildings with grids on their facades if you take Donghae Highway. Surfers began to gather in the small, quiet village, which is located at the entrance to the village. Although the town's face has changed due to the somewhat aggressive exposure of the facades, the architecture is intended to bring new vitality to the area by changing the environment and view, as well as having a concise and organized design that will be helpful to the region.
