Oscar by You Residential Building / Perkins&Will

One of the most celebrated streets in São Paulo, Oscar Freire is a synonym of fashion, style and well living. Its 2,6 km goes from Sumaré to Jardins, translating different achitectoric languages and use possibilities. Since March, the highest point on Oscar Freire street, from where you have one of the most astonishing views of the city, has been home to Oscar by You, Inc, a mixed-use development designed by Perkins&Will São Paulo. “The project was a great opportunity for us to present something that outstands the market expectations", says Douglas Tolaine, Principal Design at Perkins&Will's São Paulo studio. "As in fashion, we assumed a posture of questioning the obvious and proposing the new in a unique and particular way. It was challenging to adapt the program so we could create vertical and operational flows in a refined plasticity", he adds.

Village Collective Housing / No10-Architects

Project origin - Xialapu Village administratively subordinates to Wama Township, Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. The local government has always hoped to build an amalgamated dwelling to improve and solve the housing needs of the lonely elderly in the village. At the same time, it can also rent spare rooms to the families of left-behind children who have a long way to go to school at a low price, so as to make it more convenient for them to go to and from school. These rental fees can be used as daily maintenance and related expenses for amalgamated dwellings. According to the local government, the construction cost of this conglomerate must be low, and it must have the function of 22 living rooms. Xialapu Village responded to the national poverty alleviation and relocation policy in 2018, The scattered people are concentrated here, and a new village is being planned and built. The pattern of the new village has changed from random growth to deliberately planned fan-shaped belt layout, and its architecture has also changed from traditional soil-based houses to modern frame commercial and residential buildings, which is a "standard" modern new rural style. The amalgamated dwelling is located in the east corner of the new village. Seeing that the existing new countryside is surrounded by white walls and tiles, we plan to design an "earthen" house with local materials and continue the local traditional architectural style, so as to preserve the collective memory of the villagers. In addition, we also invited the "One Specialized Village" team as a design cooperation agency to participate in the project.

Atelier with Corridor / Takayuki Kuzushima and Associates

Building a Hut between the Town and the House. An atelier for Ryosuke Ando, a pottery artist, is located in an urbanization control zone in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The existing main house on the north side of the site has an atelier in one room at the south end, and this project is to extend the atelier function of the main house by building an extension on the remaining part of the south side of the site. The site has a narrow front road and built-up, but a long open space is also across the road. The client requested that a gas kiln, an electric kiln, a vacuum stirrer, and a pot mill be installed, as a sink, a shower booth, and a worktable.
