The Gabriel Garcia Marquez Library is located in a dense urban node of the city of Barcelona, and it is precisely this context that causes the geometry of the construction to adapt to the conditions of the environment, replicating the chamfer, a typical urban resource of Barcelona that is consistently found in the surroundings of this metropolis.

Doki Doki Concept Store / The Architecture Story

Situated on Calicut Street in the Ballard Estate neighborhood of South Mumbai, this site was previously an abandoned ice factory that served as a storage facility for ice produced a few doors down. During our initial site visit, we discovered a raw warehouse space that offered numerous possibilities for intervention. It was crucial for us to maintain the warehouse's integrity, including its pitched roof and wooden beams. Fortunately, we had a client who was passionate about design and open to taking risks, allowing us to create a flexible, modular system that respected the warehouse's history.

Bellbird House / Bower Architecture

After a long search, our clients Cameron and Nicole found a property in the Bellbird Area of Blackburn, a classified National Trust area that has been protected against significant development since the 1960s. The Bellbird Area is a suburban bush setting, connected to the Blackburn Bush Corridor a critical habitat for birdlife and animals. The streetscapes retain a peaceful ambiance with no footpaths, dominated by native vegetation. The site featured 41 existing established native trees, all of which were preserved in the creation of this home nestled amongst, and suffused by the natural landscape.

Sky mirrors. Two mirrors suspended between the mountain and sky amplify and magnify the landscape: above, the water mirror doubles the sky and creates infinity. Below, the steel mirror reflects the valley and the river below and creates an artificial sky under the sky.
